Abstract

This article examines the role of educational field practices in developing students’ professional skills. The study was conducted using the example of the Tourism and Geography programs of the Department of Economic Geography, Sectoral Economics and Tourism at Osh State University. The importance of educational field practices in combining students’ theoretical knowledge with practice, forming professional competencies, and training competitive specialists for the labor market is analyzed. The content of interregional route practices in Geography, as well as introductory, industrial, organizational-managerial, and pre-qualification practices in Tourism, is presented. It is also noted that these practices help students develop research, data collection, analytical, communication, and organizational skills. The results of the study show that educational field practices are an important factor in improving the quality of higher professional education.
